Marysville is located on the western shore of the St. Clair River, across from Corunna, Ontario. The municipality was founded in 1919, first as a village, then became a city in 1924. The city was home to the former Wills Sainte Claire Automotive company, a Morton Salt plant, and the Detroit Edison Marysville Power Plant which was decommissioned in 2001 and razed in 2015. It is considered to be part of the Thumb of Michigan, and can also be considered as in the Blue Water Area. The main area of the city is known as the "Dream City" and is home to Chrysler's MOPAR parts distribution facility. The population was 9,959 at the 2010 census, up from 8,958 at the 2000 census. The town is located in St. Claire County, Michigan, on the St Clair River. It lies on the border between Michigan and Ontario formed by the St Claire River and the Michigan/Ontario border. It has a population of 9,900, down from 9,999 at the 1990 census. It was named after C. H. Wills, inventor of the "Blue Oval" logo, still used on Ford Products today. The first Wills Ste. Clair automobile was produced in 1921. The factory closed in 1926 after 14,000 vehicles were made by the Wills' and his partner John Lee. The Wills factory provided much of the early infrastructure of the Marysville area, including electricity, roads, sidewalks, etc.

History
Marysville traces its history back to 1786 when Antoin Morass built a sawmill at Bunce Creek. In 1859 the name was changed to Marysville, after Nelson Mill's wife Mary. In 1921, the first Wills Ste. Clair automobile was produced (named for the factory's location on the St. Clair River). The factory closed in 1926 after 14,000 vehicles were made by the Wills factory. C. H. Wills was considered the "right-hand man" of Henry Ford. His contributions to the Ford company included designing Models A through T of the early Ford Motor Company. It became an incorporated city in 1924. The main area of the city to be developed before his company folded was the area surrounding Washington Elementary School. She was asked to speak at a "Meet the Candidates" forum hosted by WPHM. Audio of the exchange, which also included remarks about interracial marriage and immigrants, was picked up by outlets including CNN, Washington Post, and New York Times. The exchange was captured on video and posted on YouTube. The video was later removed from the site and replaced with a new version of the video. The original version of this article stated that Jean Cramer had said that she wanted to keep Marys County white. We are happy to clarify that this was not the case and that she was referring to the city as a whole, not just the residents of the city. We would like to make it clear that Cramer's comments were taken out of context and were not meant to imply that the city was a white-only community.
